Vaisakhi 2024 Kirtan Darbar & Nagar Kirtan, Sunday April 7th at the Los Angeles Convention Center 7am-5pm PST

The day’s festivities begin with a special Asa di Var Kirtan Program beginning at Guru Ram Das Ashram Los Angeles at 3:40 am. A special caravan with Siri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, escorted by Motorcycle Police will leave Guru Ram Das Ashram at 6:15 and arrive at the Convention Center at 6:45 am. The opening Ardas will be at 7 am and Shabd Kirtan will be presented by many children’s and young adult groups. Many Ragi Jathas representing more than 20 Gurdwaras from Southern to Central California and beyond will be doing Kirtan. The closing Ardas (Prayer) for the Kirtan Darbar will be at 2:30 pm followed by a procession of Siri Guru Granth Sahib to the Nagar Kirtan (Parade) Float. The Guru with kirtan accompaniment will parade around a nearly two mile section of downtown Los Angeles between 3-5 pm. Langar will be served throughout the day and a Bazaar with many Sikhi items, clothing, jewelry, books, and art will also be available throughout. This is a Public event and will also be live streamed.
