A Global Day of Compassion, Service, and Upliftment

What Is the Global Day of Seva?

The Global Day of Seva is a worldwide invitation to put our spiritual values into action through selfless service (seva). On this day, individuals, families, gurdwaras, and communities around the world unite to serve, uplift those in need, and strengthen compassionate, equitable local connections.

Our purpose is simple and powerful: to come together for one shared intention—service—and to choose seva projects that can make a meaningful, measurable impact in communities across the globe.

This day is about many hands, one heart.

In 2026, the Global Day of Seva centers on langar—the sacred tradition of sharing food as an expression of equality, compassion, and community.

Together, we are committed to feeding the world, one langar at a time.

Our Shared Purpose

The Global Day of Seva was shaped through community collaboration and collective visioning. Its purpose is to:

  • Bring communities together around one shared intention

  • Offer accessible ways for people to give back through service

  • Strengthen connection through collective action

  • Explore meaningful ways to understand and measure social impact in our communities

Together, we turn values into action—and service into a global expression of unity.
