The Response

When Punjab experienced severe flooding, hundreds of families were left without shelter, bedding, or basic necessities. SSSC, in partnership with Miri Piri Academy and Raj Khalsa Gurdwara, mobilized resources quickly, prioritizing families in the hardest-hit areas and ensuring that relief reached those with the fewest options for recovery.

Funds were raised and deployed for immediate relief, with an emphasis on dignity: complete bedding kits were assembled and delivered to families as a cohesive package.

A story of Seva

Among those reached was a widow who lost her home entirely to the floodwaters. The rebuild now underway is a reminder that seva is not only about immediate response — it is about staying present for those who need us longest.

This initiative reflects what is possible when the sangat acts as one. The partnership between SSSC, MPA, and Raj Khalsa Gurdwara demonstrated how institutional resources and community relationships — already in place — can be turned toward service quickly and with care.

Part of a Growing Commitment

Punjab Flood Relief is part of SSSC’s broader seva work, which spans environmental action, food service, and humanitarian response across the global sangat. Over the next four years, SSSC is working toward Seva Hubs in 30 countries — building the infrastructure for this kind of rapid, locally-grounded response wherever the community lives.
