SikhNet released Gurbani Shabads

SikhNet will Release Gurbani Shabads, an album by Mataminder Singh accompanied by Ustad Dr. Murili Manohar Ji on Tabla recorded at Miri Piri Academy last year with SikhNet. Ustad Murli Ji has taught tabla at Miri Piri Academy for many years and is the  professor of tabla at Guru Nanak University. The album will be available on SikhNet Play from May 2nd

Matamandir remembers hearing these tunes as early as the 1970s at Hari Mandir Sahib when he used to sit listening to kirtan for hours at a time. They have remained his favorite “folk Kirtan” melodies from Punjab. The students singing on the Shabad “Jai Tai Gang” are both the international boarding students as well as the day students from Amritsar from 2023 school year. Videos of each song will be released on SikhNet Youtube from May 2nd also.
