Navigating Community Dialogue: Concepts and Skills for Group Facilitation
August 3, 2023 @ 9:00 am - 12:30 pm
Description:
Navigating Community Dialogue: Concepts and Skills for Group Facilitation is designed to
equip participants with practical techniques and strategies for facilitating inclusive and
transformative group dialogues.
Throughout the training, participants will learn about various group facilitation concepts and
practices, including circle processes, interest-based dialogue, and the power of open-ended
questions. They will explore how restorative justice principles can be applied in group settings to foster understanding, empathy, and constructive communication. The training will include a
combination of interactive exercises, group discussions, and case studies to enhance learning
and practical application.
Key Learning Objectives:
1. Explore different relational concepts and practices suitable for group settings, such as
circle processes and interest-based dialogue.
2. Learn techniques and skills for creating a safe and inclusive space for dialogue within
groups.
3. Practice applying facilitation skills toward situational group decisions through interactive
activities and role-plays.
Note: Much of the material covered in this training will be replication of what was covered in the CRC Advisory Team Facilitator, or Circle Process trainings. If you have only attended the five-day restorative justice facilitator training, this will primarily be new material.
This training will be held in two sessions. You need to register for both sessions.
