​Finance Committee

The Finance Committee is a standing committee of the SSSC that deals with all relevant financial matters of the organization. The committee is responsible for reviewing and providing guidance on the organization’s financial matters. Specifically, the committee assures internal controls and financial analysis for the SSSC.

  • Audit/Tax issues
  • Financial oversight of the Non-Profits
  • Financial oversight of KIIT
  • Policy creation and management of Investment/Endowment
  • Real property, intellectual property & other asset managementInte

Legal Committee:

The Legal Committee is a standing committee of the Siri Singh Sahib Corporation that deals with all relevant legal matters of the organization and monitors SSSC’s governance policies including confidentiality, ethics and conflict of interest policies.
The Legal Committee works with the Executive Director and Office of Dharmic Counsel (ODC) in developing long range governance plans, and performs other such duties as may from time to time be required by the Board.The committee is responsible for providing advice and counsel to the Board and the Committees of the Board.

  • Interfacing with the Office of Dharmic Counsel on legal issues
  • Corporate structure and Governance issues
  • High level dispute resolution
  • On-going or new litigation involving the SSSC
  • By-laws of the SSSC and subsidiary non-profit by-laws
  • SSSC ethics and conflict of interests

  • Create a sorting system to organize topics and tasks by priority

Communication Committee

Areas of responsibility

  • The function of the Sangat Communications Committee is to facilitate and promote the communication between SSSC, its constituents as well as the general community.
  • Draft, edit and release communications to the Sangat.

Governance Committee

Areas of responsibility

  • Procedural assessment and recommended improvements at the SSSC level.
  • Board governance best practices, guidelines and policies.
  • Prioritization of governance issues that pertain to the SSSC and/or the organizations within our constituency.
  • The formation and population for the various Governance Commission groups.
  • Assessment of Governance Commission groups proposals and final recommendation to the SSSC Board.

Scope of Commission:

The Commission will offer constructive feedback, ideas, collaborative efforts and support as well as discuss, report and facilitate communication about:

  • Current challenges and their impacts on all the organizations
  • Upcoming events, trainings and initiatives as well as arising situations and issues
  • Updates on strategic actions across all areas

Human Rights Commission

Purpose:

To identify and focus on global Human Rights issues that are relevant to the 3HO/Sikh Dharma community and advise the SSSC and its affiliates about those issues.
